Abyssinia Group of Industries is the largest steel producer in East Africa with capacity in excess of 25,000 metric tons per month. Using mineral resources from its own mining operations in Homa Bay County and imported uncompromised billets, the Abyssinia Group is the first Integrated Steel plant in East Africa.
The Group trading under PRIME STEEL MILLS LIMITED, ABYSSINNIA IRON & STEEL LTD and WESTERN STEEL MILLS LTD has manufacturing facilities strategically located in six different locations in the country namely: Kitengela, Athi River, Eldoret, Awasi, Kisumu and Mombasa. Abyssinia Group is uniquely positioned to play a significant role in the realization of Kenya’s Vision 2030 initiatives and meets the export market requirements in both the East African region and beyond.
